IF YOU WERE IN CONTROL OF CONGRESS, HOW WOULD YOU ADDRESS WHAT SOME WANT TO CALL A WOMEN’S RIGHTS ISSUE - ABORTION?

Would you first change the terminology from “women’s choice” to “parent’s choice”? After all, the father did play an equal role in the creation of this life. Would you then remind both parties involved that they both had the right to use protection and prevent an unwanted pregnancy in the first place?

Now that they both voluntarily participated in the creation of that precious life, neither of them should have the right to end it. There’s a 50/50 chance that the life they just created is a girl who deserves the chance to grow up and become a woman one day. Shouldn’t she have rights too? This is what we should be calling women’s rights!

Would you first choose at least a more appropriate name for the issue?  Maybe "Parent's Rights" or "Parent's Choice", rather than "Women's Rights"?

I agree 100% with all women’s rights issues, i.e. equal pay for equal work, being able to serve in the military, becoming president, etc., but this is not a women’s rights issue! If anything, it’s a parent’s rights issue. Why should the woman (anymore than the man) be given the sole right to make the decision to abort (terminate) a life, when they both played an equal role in the creation of that life, when they both chose to have unprotected sex?  I’m truly sorry for the added inconvenience that the woman has to endure for the nine month birthing period, but no one should have the right just to end a life simply for convenience!

Would you then remind both parties involved that they both had the right to use protection before having sex; and that they both had the obligation to prevent an unwanted pregnancy from occuring in the first place?

Prior to the lifeform being created, both parties involved had the right to take precautions, to use protection and prevent an unwanted pregnacy.  Once two people voluntarily participate in the creation of a life, neither one of them should have the right to terminate that precious life.

If we really want to talk about Women's Rights, there's a 50/50 chance that the life they just created is a young girl who deserves the chance to become a woman one day.  Shouldn't we be fighting for her rights?  Isn't this what we should be calling Women's Rights?

If a mistake is made, carry that mistake (that living entity) to term, and then give it to a couple who can’t have children.  Again, if two adults do not exercise their right to use protection, they forfeit their right to simply abort the child.  They are then morally obligated to at least protect, provide for, and give birth to that "mistake" they just created.  If after looking that mistake in the eyes, they jointly choose to relinquish their rights as parents, no problem.  I'm sure there's some loving couple out there who would be glad to love and care for that young child.

In the case of rape or incest, I think almost everyone would agree that the victim (man or woman) has the right to request that an abortion be performed.

While we're at it, lets go back to calling the facilities that perform abortions, ABORTION CENTERS.  The term Planned Parenthood should be reserved for facilities that actually provide services to help young couples become parents and/or prevent unwanted pregnacies.
